SJD Candidate
Dinesh Napal is a SJD candidate at ¹ú²úСßÏÅ® Washington College of Law. His doctoral research focuses on the impact of US drone strikes and targeted killings on civilian survivors, and seeks to explore the relevance of Hannah Arendt’s theorisations on the ‘banality of evil’ and Michel Foucault’s work on thanatopolitics to international law concerning the use of force. He is particularly interested in the interaction between national security and human rights violations and the proliferation of drone technologies in the military-industrial complex. His dissertation will also explore truth and reconciliation processes and their potential in the aftermath of drone strikes.
