Academic Requirements
The LL.M. degree requires the completion of 24 credits, chosen from the designated list of classes, with a grade point average of 2.0 (C) or better. A minimum of 16 credits must be earned from traditional classroom study and a maximum of 8 credits can be earned from pre-approved externships, writing projects, and/or co-teaching opportunities.
The 24 credits needed for the LL.M. degree can be completed in two semesters of full-time study. Part-time students generally complete the LL.M. degree in three or four semesters. 听Absent extraordinary circumstances, students must complete the LL.M. degree within sixty听months of matriculating in a given LL.M. program.听

Area of Concentration or Specialization
An area of concentration or specialization is not required for successful completion of the Advocacy LL.M. program. Students who wish to pursue a specialization must earn 12 credits in one of the following areas:
- Civil Trial Advocacy
- Criminal Trial Advocacy
- Alternative Dispute Resolution
