The Stephen S. Weinstein Advocacy Program offers multiple alternative dispute resolution course sections that include practical instruction, mock mediations and arbitrations, in-class discussions, out-of-class journals, and feedback from faculty and fellow students.
Students who want to hone their alternative dispute resolution skills may apply to join the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society, one of four recognized student organizations that send their members to compete in local, regional, national and international law school competitions.
In the last five years, the students of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society have won two championships, and finished in the top eight in 12聽competitions. In addition to these team wins, the students also earned a number of mediation, advocate-client, negotiation and written statement awards. These students travel the world to compete in national and international dispute resolution and negotiation competitions.
