In addition, the project supported a program of Junior Scholar Teaching Fellowships at UP to expand the pool of qualified junior teachers of human rights and gender, as well as to fill the teaching positions of the faculty members studying at AU. Project participants engaged in specialized training programs focused on the teaching of human rights and gender in which they explored strategies for teaching sensitive topics and ways to expand opportunities for learning, study and scholarship on human rights and gender in the complicated cultural and political context of Peshawar, which is located in the conservative and volatile Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan.听
