Bill Deckelman

Mr. Deckelman has served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel of DXC Technology Company and a member of DXC Technology’s executive leadership since April 1, 2017 when DXC Technology was formed via a merger between HPE Enterprise Services and Computer Sciences Corporation. As chief legal counsel for DXC Technology, Mr. Deckelman has global responsibility for all legal matters, such as mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and global contracting functions. Throughout his career he has served as general counsel for Information Technology services firms and has advised on numerous complex technology matters. Mr. Deckelman is an active organizer and participant in conferences, policy studies, and salon dinners addressing global cybersecurity and privacy concerns including programs with The Howard Baker Forum, Chatham House, the Atlantic Council, New America, the Indo-Pacific Centre, and the Council on Foreign Relations.
In February 2020, Mr. Deckelman and DXC Technology originated ‘The Ellen O. Tauscher Memorial Dinner on Cyber Strategy’ hosted by the Howard Baker Forum and the Atlantic Council in memory of the former Undersecretary of State and Congresswoman. Mr. Deckelman serves on the Advisory Council of the Indo-Pacific Centre, which engages with key government ministries in Singapore, Japan, India and the United States to address security concerns in the Indo-Pacific region. Mr. Deckelman has received an L.L.M. in International Business and Economic Law from the Georgetown University Law Center and an Executive L.L.M. in International Law from LSE Law, the London School of Economics. Named by the Financial Times in 2017 as ‘The Most Innovative General Counsel’ and a 2018 ‘Attorney of the Year Finalist’ by the American Lawyer, Mr. Deckelman is a recognized practice leader in the digital transformation of inhouse legal organizations. Mr. Deckelman co-created and is a faculty member of the Digital Legal Exchange, a global institute of leading thinkers and practitioners from academia, business, government, technology and law committed to accelerating digital transformation in the legal industry.
