Exhibition Overview
鈥淭he studio isn鈥檛 just a place to create, it is a聽refuge within a refuge, a place where externally mandated compromises can be temporarily minimized so that individual world building can be prioritized. Enlightenment doesn鈥檛 come from the university, it comes from the experience of聽self聽and our聽relationships.鈥
鈥擹o毛 Charlton
This exhibition punctuates the end of eight artists鈥 time together in DC. Having met in the aftermath of COVID-19, their introduction offered an exciting opportunity to reconnect with the community, exchange ideas about the contemporary world, and grow their artistic practices. The artists use diverse media to explore several themes including community, self, nature, and desire. While聽end quote聽may imply conclusion, it also signals the beginning of new chapters of creation and collaboration.
